Schon nach 300m biegen wir ab zum Kaffeetrinken, denn heute haben wir Zeit, denn bis Leon sind es ja nur 12km! Es ist eine angenehme Strecke und diese wird am Stadtrand von León noch versüßt: Hier sind ist kleiner Stand wo Stempel, Stadtpläne und sogar Lutscher verteilt werden. Wann habe ich zuletzt so ein Zuckerding bekommen? Es kommt mir als wären es Ewigkeiten. Der Lutscher, zuckerreich und garantiert vitaminarm einfach ein Genuss. Und so wird der Weg durch den Großstadtdschungel hinein ins Zentrum versüßt. Wir entdecken die Kathedrale, verzichten aber auf ein Besichtigung den Thomas braucht noch dringend ein neuer Pilgerpass, denn seiner ist randvoll bis Anschlag. Im Museum wird er fündig. Und dann heißt es Abschied zu nehmen von Thomas. Seit wir uns vor rund 290km oder vor 13Tagen im Gewittersturm vor Navarete getroffen haben wir eine herrliche Zeit genossen und viel erlebt, was uns in Freundschaft verbindet. Er aber möchte direkt León hinter sich lassen und noch etwas weiter, während ich mich in León Regina meiner Frau treffen werde, die mich bis zum Finale bis Santiago begleiten möchte.

After just 300m we turn off for a coffee, because today we have time, as it is only 12km to Leon! It is a pleasant route and it is made even more after the suburban of León: There is a small stand where stamps, city maps and even lollipops are handed out. When was the last time I got one of these sweet things? It seems like it was ages ago. The lollipop, high in sugar and guaranteed low in vitamins, is simply a delight. And so the journey through the urban jungle into the center is sweetened. We discover the cathedral, but forego a visit because Thomas urgently needs a new pilgrim's passport because his is full to the brim. He finds what he is looking for in the museum. And then it is time to say goodbye to Thomas. Since we met around 290km ago, or 13 days ago in the thunderstorm outside Navarete, we have enjoyed a wonderful time and experienced a lot that binds us together in friendship. But he wants to leave León behind him and go a little further, while I will meet my wife Regina in León, who wants to accompany me to the final in Santiago.
